These abstract magical figures, known as ‘boli’, represent an abstract buffalo. It has a wooden center and was then given libations, animal blood, spit and sediments. They are used by the Bamana secret societies to harbor Nyama or spirit energy that can be activated by the priests. Great Boli figure with a wonderful aged patina due to libations.
