Currency / Ngulu Sword – Copper, Wood – Ngombe – Congo

Beautiful, ceremonial sword of the NGOMBE tribe from D.R. Congo.
This Central African Ngombe Ngulu sword was reputedly used for executions. Later, it became a sign of prestige.
Very nice specimen with great patina!
It was also used as a means of exchange: ” Currency”. The owner of this item was given some form of social status.
