Beautiful ceremonial headdress from the Idoma people of Nigeria’s Benue State. The face is strikingly painted in black and white pigments set atop an elongated neck. The backpart is covered with (animal) hair). The Idoma are known for facial ornamentation on ritual masks and headpieces. Good condition with a nice aged patina.
