Powerful Lega initiation statue from DR Congo. These kind of statues with multiple faces were used in instruction and initiation ceremonies into the five progressive levels of Bwami, the association that Lega men rise through with lifelong learning and deeds. . Covered in Pembe, white clay, each time the statue was used, resulting in a beautiful patina. The figure is in good condition with traces of wear and tear.
