Wonderful plank mask from the Eket people of Nigeria.

These type of masks were associated with forest spirits and depend on the ekpo society.

The Eket, established in the southeast of Nigeria, are a subgroup of the Ibibio.

Good condition with a wonderfull aged patina.

Provenance: former private collection from the Netherlands.
