Old sword from the Mongo tribe of DR Congo with beautiful blade. The distinctive hilt is characteristic of this Mongo sword. The sword protector is still in tact but i don`t fit the whole sword in it.
Knives, axes, currency blades swords and spears, all made of forged iron, attest to the skills in metal of the Kuba/Mongo and related peoples of central Africa. Most exhibit an inventive variety of form and workmanship far beyond what was functionally necessary.
